Before coming to Lypkie Henderson in June 2019, Jessica gained experience and labour law and professional regulatory law at two different Edmonton based law firms. Jessica completed her articles with Lypkie Henderson and was called to the bar in 2019.
During law school Jessica waited tables at a local restaurant, did part-time legal research for a sessional instructor, and spent a summer working at an Edmonton labour and employment firm. She volunteered with Student Legal Services in their criminal law and community outreach projects, and with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre in their Family Law Summary Advice Clinics. Through these programs, Jessica provided legal information and practical assistance to low income individuals. Prior to beginning her articles, Jessica also worked as a Policy Consultant for the College of Licensed Practical Nurses where her primary focus was to translate complex regulatory requirements into simple, everyday language.
At Lypkie Henderson, Jessica maintains a mixed practice with a focus on Employment Law, Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship, as well as Wills and Estates. Jessica enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to develop practical solutions and resolve disputes.
Jessica grew up on Vancouver Island but moved to Edmonton in 2014 to attend law school. Although she originally planned on returning to BC, Edmonton has won Jessica over. She will even cheer for the Edmonton Oilers – although this is only if they aren’t playing the Vancouver Canucks. Outside the office Jessica enjoys exploring the river valley with her dog Charlie, hiking, skiing and finding new breweries to visit.
